Oakridge Students Are Headed to the Mountain This Winter

Kids 12 and under ski free at Willamette Pas with the Power Kids Pass

A big win is rolling in for Oakridge families. Willamette Pass and Oakridge School District have partnered to give every 5th and 6th grader the chance to learn to ski this winter, and the program is loaded with value. Students will head to the mountain for three ski days packed with professional lessons, meals, transportation, ski gear, and lift access. All of it comes together for a single fifty-dollar fee. This is a huge moment for local kids to grow their skills, confidence, and connection to the outdoors.

This is exactly the kind of opportunity we love to support: accessible, community-driven, and built to give students memories they’ll carry for a long time.

The Community Can Make This Even Stronger

The only thing students need to bring themselves is warm winter clothing. For some families, that’s the barrier. If Oakridge steps in here, every student gets the same chance to participate comfortably and confidently.

The district is asking for new or gently used winter gear:

  • Snow pants
  • Winter coats
  • Gloves
  • Stocking hats

If you have outgrown youth gear or extras sitting in a closet, this is the perfect way to put it back to work for local kids. All donations can be dropped off at Oakridge Elementary School in the front office.

Free Power Kids Pass Required

All students participating in the program will need to register for a FREE Power Kids Season Pass before their ski days. This pass is available for all kids 12 and under and gets them access to Willamette Pass and 11 other mountains for FREE!

Oakridge Always Shows Up

Programs like this thrive because communities get behind them. The district is already moving fast to set students up for an unforgettable winter, and with a little support from local families and neighbors, every child will have what they need to step onto the snow with confidence.

This season is shaping up to be a big one for Oakridge kids, and we’re excited to welcome everyone to the mountain soon.
